5-0 on the farm yesterday with one rainout. Jason Stanford, Paul Rigdon, Dan Denham, Keith Ramsey, and Juan Lara combined for a 1.52 ERA in 29.2 innings.

BUFFALO (64-63, 4th Place, 7.5 GB, 4.0 GB-WC): The Bisons took a big step toward getting back into the wildcard race with a 7-3 victory over wildcard leading Scranton. Jason Stanford (9-3, 3.21) allowed just two runs in six innings on six hits and no walks while striking out six. Brandon Phillips (.156) homered (#2), walked, and scored twice. Greg LaRocca also went deep (#9). Lyle Mouton singled twice. Phillips and Dusty Wathan committed errors.

AKRON (81-47, 1st Place, 11.0 GA): The Aeros continued to roll as they defeated Altoona 3-2 in Canal Park. Paul Rigdon (2-0, 0.83) was sensational through six innings as he blanked Altoona for six innings, permitting just four hits and a walk while fanning one. Fernando Cabrera (3.03) worked a scoreless 9th for his second save. Corey Smith, Hector Luna, and Luis Gonzalez singled twice. Luna also walked. Grady Sizemore added a baseknock and a free pass.

KINSTON (31-24, 1st Place, 3.5 GA): The K-Tribe won their 5th in a row in a 6-0 whitewash of Frederick. Dan Denham (4-5, 5.37) dominated in 6.2 scoreless innings on the mound, punching out seven and allowing just five hits and a walk. Chris Cooper finished with four strikeouts in 2.1 scoreless innings of relief. Armando Camacaro (.244) doubled and singled. JJ Sherrill plated two runs with a pair of hits. Miguel Quintana doubled. Wily Taveras walked twice and stole his 53rd base.

LAKE COUNTY (38-16, 1st Place, 6.0 GA): Michael Aubrey belted his 4th homerun of the season in the bottom of the 8th inning to give the Captains a 4-3 victory over Kannapolis. Aubrey (.337) also singled in the contest. Shaun Larkin also had two hits, including his 17th longball. Bill Peavey, Eric Johnson, and Bryan Kent added baseknocks. Keith Ramsey (2.72) allowed two runs in 5.2 innings, fanning four and surrendering five hits and three walks. Reid Casey picked up his first win with 1.2 scoreless innings of relief.

MAHONING VALLEY (28-31, 2nd Place, 17.5 GB): The Scrappers knocked off Tri-City 4-3 in 12 innings. Juan Lara turned in an outstanding performance as he limited Tri-City to just one run through six innings, permitting just three hits and no walks while striking out four. The lone run he allowed came on a solo homerun. Mike Conroy homered (#5), singled, and walked twice. Brad Snyder (.256) singled twice and stole a base. Jonathan Van Every blasted his first homerun and walked twice. Kevin Kouzmanoff and Jesus Colmenter added basehits. Ryan Mulhern and Ryan Garko committed errors.

BURLINGTON (31-27, 3rd Place, 5.0 GB): The B-Tribe was rained out on Saturday.
