Miller, 34, made just one appearance for Cleveland in the second half. His first attempted comeback in late August was shut down after continued soreness.
He had been rehabbing in his native Mississippi and Cleveland during the off-season and cleared by team doctors to pitch.
The right-hander went 1-0 with a 1.82 ERA and one save for the Indians in 2005, limiting hitters to a .212 (22-for-104) batting average in 29 2/3 innings.
WINTER BALL UPDATE
Indians second baseman Ronnie Belliard has played in 12 games in the Dominican Republic as he prepares for a potential spot in on the Dominican club in the World Baseball Classic that will be held in March.
Several players from the Indians organization are playing winter ball. Two outfield prospects are putting up good numbers. Ben Francisco is fifth in the Mexican League in homers with 12 and ninth in batting average (.316) and Franklin Gutierrez is hitting .323 (41-for-127) in Venezuela.
