2008 Minor-League Spring Schedules

The Indians' minor-leaguers once again will prepare for their respective seasons by playing spring games against Houston Astros, Detroit Tigers and Atlanta Braves farm clubs. Tribe prospects are not scheduled to play any games on Wednesdays or Sundays, which are reserved as camp workout days. On other days, they'll play at home or in Lakeland (Tigers), Kissimmee (Astros) or Disney World (Braves).

The Tigers' training complex is approximately 15 miles west of the Indians' camp. The Braves' complex is approximately 30 miles north and the Astros' camp is approximately 45 miles northeast.

Game times are generally 1 p.m. each day, but are subject to change. It is best to check the daily schedule posted outside the minor-league complex each morning.

In Winter Haven, the Triple-A field is the one closest to the main ballpark, the Double-A field is farther to the west and the Class A fields down a slight hill.

All of these fields are in use daily from the start of camp by all players, including big-leaguers. When spring games begin, the major-league team will generally warm up in the Chain of Lakes ballpark, while the various minor-league clubs will practice on their respective fields.

Pathways to the minor-league diamonds are the best place to try and obtain autographs. Patient and polite fans usually can meet a hundred players after the guys have gone through their workouts, which include sessions in the weight room after on-field practice or games.
