Lee, Blake Lead Tribe To Victory

Cliff Lee pitched well for the third straight game and Casey Blake broke out of a slump with a homer and three RBI to lead the Indians to a 4-0 road victory over the Minnesota Twins on Friday night. It was Cleveland's eighth straight triumph over the Twins dating to last season -- their best stretch against Minnesota since winning nine in a row nine from May 9, 1981, to Aug. 20, 1982.

Lee (3-0) struck out eight and walked one over eight innings, allowing only two hits as he lowered his earned run average to 0.40.

He walked Delmon Young with one out in the second inning, gave up a leadoff single to Matt Tolbert in the fourth, and allowed Joe Mauer to reach on a one-out infield single in the seventh. After both hits, Lee got the next Twins batter to bounce into a double play.

Rafael Perez (5.40 ERA) worked the ninth, yielding an infield single to Nick Punto. He then fanned Carlos Gomez and Tolbert to end it.

Blake (.183) went 2-for-4, hitting his first homer of the season off reliever Juan Rincon in the seventh. He also had a two-run single in the second after Twins starter Francisco Liriano walked the bases loaded.

Victor Martinez (.357) had an RBI single in the fifth.

Cleveland has won 15 of the last 20 meetings with their AL Central rivals, outscoring the Twins 100-49 over that span.
