Indians' Top Prospects: No. 27
No. 27 -- Kevin Dixon The Kevin Dixon File Born: Dec. 16, 1983 in St. Louis Park, MN Position: Starting Pitcher B/T: R/R HT/WT: 6-3/225 Acquired: Fifth-round draft pick in 2005 from Minnesota State. Strengths: Very good athlete with excellent size and a great upside. Fastball hits the mid-90s. Has the arm strength to be a starter. Is developing himself into a major-leaguer. Weaknesses: Needs to get a better breaking ball and to command his pitches. Lacks experience after being used very little on the mound in his last two years in college. Needs to solidify and trust his delivery. 2009 Projection: Depending on who doesn't make it in Cleveland, he has a chance to start season in Buffalo's rotation. Otherwise, he'll be back at Akron. 2008 & MINOR-LEAGUE CAREER Team W L ERA G GS IP H BB SO Akron 9 11 4.41 27 26 157.0 159 48 113 Minor Totals 30 25 4.08 89 82 456.6 476 130 277
