Indians' 2010 Spring Schedule

The Indians will open Cactus League spring exhibition play in 2010 with two games March 5-6 at Goodyear Ballpark against the Cincinnati Reds, who now share the complex. The two teams will wrap up spring play with games April 2-3. The Indians moved their spring camp to Goodyear from Winter Haven, Fla., in 2009. The Reds will be training there for the first time in 2010 after leaving Sarasota, Fla.

The Indians are scheduled to play 32 (15 home, 17 road) spring exhibition games in 2010. The Tribe will break 2010 spring training in Arizona following the April 3 game against Cincinnati at Goodyear Ballpark and face the Chicago White Sox in Chicago in the 2010 regular season opener on April 5.

The Indians will also play three night games at the ballpark -- March 17 against the Reds, March 29 against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the April 2 game against Cincinnati.

The Goodyear Ballpark will be in use every day by either the Reds or Indians. When the Indians play on the "road," the Reds will play a home game in Goodyear -- and vice versa. The teams will play each other six times, each being the home team half the time.

Fans can watch players from both organizations go through daily workouts about a half mile apart. The Indians have constructed a new fan access area at their player development complex and promise it is a great place to watch all players from the major-league and minor-league teams as well as snare autographs.

The Indians are scheduled to start their second spring season in Goodyear on February 21, when pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report. Here's the Tribe's tentative opening schedule:

With the Reds coming to Goodyear, fans are being offered the opportunity to purchase either a 30-Game Season Ticket Plan, which includes all Indians and Reds home games, or a 15-Game Season Plan for Indians home games only.
