Kinston Gets Combined No-hitter

Marty Popham, Chris Jones and Cory Burns pitched a rare combined no-hitter for the Kinston Indians on Sunday. Doug Pickens' RBI single in the 10th inning beat Potomac 1-0 in the next-to-last game of the regular season. Burns earned his 30th save for Kinston and 42nd of the season and the K-Tribe remained alive in the Southern Division second half pennant race in the Class A Carolina League.

Popham had a perfect game until walking leadoff batter Francisco Soriano to open the seventh. The right-hander then uncorked a wild pitch, sending Soriano to second.
