They're No. 1 Premium Story

Developments involving the Indians and a few of their No. 1 draft picks proved very interesting over the past week.

First, the signing of 2004 No. 1 choice Jeremy Sowers came as no surprise whatsoever.

Another high 2004 draft pick told me off the record recently that, from everything he had heard -- and he had heard quite a bit -- there was no way Sowers, a bright young man, would not sign a contract with a guaranteed $2 million-plus bonus.
