Even from 1,100 miles away, J.D. Martin's pitching can look pretty impressive. At least his pitching line, as Frank Derry observed in the newspaper back home in northeastern Ohio. Derry has watched Martin in the past and knew just from small agate print in front of him that the right-hander was up to his old self again -- striking out batters. Only this time, it was batters in big-league uniforms.
