Signed by Cleveland as a non-drafted free agent, 6/12/2006.

As a senior at Princeton in 2006, went 4-4 with a 3.45 ERA in 11 starts and pitched six complete games, allowing only 17 walks while striking out 70 in 73 innings. ... Had a 15-13 record in 37 games (36 starts) over four years for the Tigers, walking 51 and striking out 191 in 216 2/3 innings overall.
