Drafted by Cleveland in the 13th round, 2007.
Batted .303 (86-for-284) with eight homers, 61 RBI and 18 stolen bases in 27 attempts in 73 games as a junior in 2007 at Wichita State. He also had a team-high 58 strikeouts. ... As a sophomore in 2006, he hit .335 (93-for-278) with four homers, 57 RBI, 15 steals and 45 strikeouts in 68 games. ... As a freshman with the Shockers in 2005, Brown was nominated for an ESPY Award by ESPN in the Best Play category. That was for his catch in a game against Oklahoma. The right fielder jumped up -- and over -- the shoulder-high barrier in foul territory to the catch a long fly ball. He batted .293 with seven doubles, one triple, two homers, 26 RBI and 11 steals as a freshman.
