Connor Graham pitched six innings and took his first loss as a member of the Cleveland Indians organization as Akron lost to New Britain, 4-1.

Graham (0-1, 4.38 ERA), acquired two weeks ago from the Colorado Rockies organization for veteran reliever Rafael Betancourt, allowed three runs and five hits. He walked four and struck out seven.

Steven Wright (2.76 ERA) gave up one hit and struck out two over two scoreless innings and Josh Judy (3.89 ERA) allowed a homer to the first batter he faced in the ninth.

Biography:
Drafted by Colorado in the fifth round, 2007; traded to Cleveland for RHP Rafael Betancourt, 7/23/09.

Native of Bowling Green, O., played three seasons at Miami (O.) University, going a combined 13-11 with four saves in 52 games including 21 starts. All the saves came in his freshman year of 2005. In 2007, he was only a starter and in 13 games went 5-4 with a 4.24 ERA.

Went 1-0 with a 2.37 ERA in his first pro season at Class A Tri-City ... pitched at Class A Asheville in 2008, going 12-6 with a 2.26 ERA in 26 starts. ... at the time of his trade to Cleveland, was 7-4 with a 3.14 ERA in 16 starts for Modesto in the California League.
