2B Adam Davis: Hot August nights by Chuck Murr of IndiansInk.net, August 16, 2009 at 2:32am ET
Adam Davis Profile
Adam Davis continued his resurgence at the plate with three hits to help Kinston to a 5-1 win at Salem.
Davis (.237), recently moved to third base when prized prospect Lonnie Chisenhall was promoted to Double-A Akron, went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a run, RBI and stolen base. In his last 10 games, he has hit .361 (13-for-36) with four doubles, two homers, seven runs and four RBI.
A third-round pick by the Indians in 2006, Davis has struggled as a pro, bouncing from one position to another and seeing his batting average go down each time. The switch-hitter has been tried at second base, catcher, the outfield and now third. He shows good leadership and from time to time gets on one of these hitting streaks, but has never been very consistent for an entire season.
Overall this year, the 24-year-old has eight homers, 15 doubles, 37 runs and 34 RBI in 93 games, going 6-for-16 in stolen base attempts.
