Carlos Rivero hit two of Akron's four home runs in a 7-1 victory at New Britain.

Rivero (.237) hit a pair of solo shots, giving the young shortstop seven homers and 46 RBI for the season.

Left fielder Matt McBride (.249) hit a three-run homer in the first inning, his 12th with the Aeros since being promoted from Class A Kinston. First baseman Beau Mills (.260) hit a solo shot, his 11th, and had two RBI overall.

Josh Tomlin (12-8, 4.10 ERA) struck out six without allowing a walk over five innings, yielding one run on five hits.

Steven Wright (2.56 ERA) worked three scoreless innings and Matt Meyer (6.41 ERA) finished with a hitless ninth.
