Roman Pena hit a two-run homer to help Kinston to a 6-3 win in the first game of a doubleheader against Myrtle Beach. Pena went 0-for-1 as a pinch-hitter in a 4-2 loss in the second game.

Pena (.224) went 2-for-2 with a walk and his fourth homer in the first game. That's the kind of production the Indians organization expected this year from the 22-year-old, who was drafted in the ninth round out of high school in 2005.

After getting 70 RBI at Class A Lake County in 2007 and coming back in 2008 to hit .275 with 11 homers and 66 RBI at Kinston, the outfielder appeared almost ready to move up to Double-A.

Instead, this has been almost a lost season for the lefty hitter. He missed six weeks with a hand injury and has yet to get untracked. In 77 games, he has gone 59-for-263 at the plate with 13 doubles, on triple, four homers, 32 runs and 31 RBI.
