Brett Brach pitched five solid innings for the win as Mahoning Valley defeated host Hudson Valley, 4-3.
Brach (3-2, 2.55 ERA) gave up three runs, but only one was earned. The right-hander yielded four hits and two walks, striking out two.
Jeremy Johnson (2.02 ERA) yielded a hit and got two strikeouts in two scoreless innings and Guido Fonseca (4.50 ERA) gave up two hits over two more scoreless innings for his third save.
Brach has worked 60 innings in 12 starts since being drafted and signed by the Cleveland Indians in June. He has given up 51 hits and 18 walks, notching 43 strikeouts.
