OF Jason Kipnis: Hitting well

Jason Kipnis Profile

Jason Kipnis had three hits to help Mahoning Valley overcome three errors and win at Hudson Valley, 6-3.

Kipnis (.326) had two doubles and a single, driving in one run.

The outfielder, drafted in the second round in June, didn't sign right away out of Arizona State, then had a slight injury that delayed his pro debut until early August. In 12 games with the Scrappers, he has gone 15-for-46 with four doubles, two triples, one homer, nine runs and seven RBI.

Kipnis has a sweet stroke from the left side and projects as a solid hitter capable of playing any of the three outfield positions.
