Oswell Munoz is putting together quite a season for the Indians' team in the Dominican Summer League.
Munoz is 6-1 with a 2.20 ERA in his second pro season. In 14 games including 12 starts covering 61 1-3 innings, he has given up only 48 hits and seven walks while striking out 52.
The 6-foot-5 native of Venezuela won't turn age 19 until November. He signed at age 16 in November of 2007 and made his pro debut last season in the DSL, fashioning an 0-1 record and 1.65 ERA in nine games including two starts. He walked only one and struck out 16 in 16 1-3 innings.
Munoz has really been on a roll since late June. In is last 10 outings covering 45 2-3 innings, he is 5-1 with a 1.18 ERA, four walks and 41 strikeouts.
