Scott Barnes gave up eight runs over four innings in Akron's 8-1 loss at Erie.

Barnes (1-1, 7.63 ERA) allowed six hits and walked four while striking out three in his third Double-A start.

Barnes was acquired by the Indians in the trade that sent first baseman Ryan Garko to the San Francisco Giants. The left-hander went 12-3 with a 2.85 ERA at Class A Modesto before the trade and had no record with a 2.13 ERA in three starts at Class A Kinston after joining the Cleveland organization.

Overall for three teams this year, the 21-year-old is 13-4 with a 3.36 ERA in 24 starts. He has given up 112 hits and walked 42 while striking out 122 in 126 innings.
