Rafael Vera had three hits, scored twice, and drove in two runs to help host Mahoning Valley to an 11-6 win over Batavia.
Vera (.232) went 3-for-3 with two doubles and played a good game at shortstop.
Vera, 21, a Venezuelan who signed as an unsigned free agent with the Indians before the 2008 season, can play all four infield positions. He was twice drafted by the Chicago White Sox, out of high school and again in college, but never signed with them.
Leadoff hitter Jordan Henry (.297) went 4-for-5 with a double, run, two RBI and two steals, giving the center fielder 19 for the season.
First baseman Juan Aponte (.288) went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBI.
Austin Adams (1-1, 5.57 ERA) earned his first professional win. The right-hander gave up two runs over three innings of relief.
