Bo Greenwell Profile
Bo Greenwell had three hits for Lake County in a 6-5 loss at Delmarva.
Greenwell went 3-for-4 with a double, putting his average at .293 in 53 games with the Captains since being called up from Mahoning Valley. In 60 games overall, the son of former Red Sox all-star Mike Greenwell is batting .300 with 18 doubles, one triple, two homers, 30 runs and 28 RBI.
Greenwell has been torrid at the plate over his last 10 games, batting .364 (12-for-33) with three doubles, one homer and six RBI. Included in that stretch was an 0-for-1 performance Aug. 25 when he was hit by a pitch and had to leave the game. He missed three games, but has gone 8-for-16 since returning.
Greenwell won't turn 21 until October. A sixth-round draft pick in 2007 out of high school, he hadn't shown much in two seasons in the Gulf Coast League, but has emerged this year. He's still quite inexperienced, however, as his 217 at-bats thus far this season are a career high.
