Yohan Pino Profile
Yohan Pino pitched seven strong innings in his first outing for Columbus, a 9-2 win over visiting Louisville.
Pino (3-2, 2.79 ERA) struck out eight without issuing a walk in his first game since being acquired by the Indians from the Minnesota organization as the player to be named in the deal that sent veteran pitcher Carl Pavano to the Twins last month.
The right-hander threw 79 of 100 pitches for strikes, allowing two runs and seven hits. He had gone 2-2 with a 2.82 ERA for the Twins' Triple-A farm team at Rochester before the trade.
Pino, 25, began this season at Double-A New Britain and compiled a 5-1 record and 3.19 ERA in 32 games, 28 of them in relief.
In 120 innings overall this season, Pino has walked only 27 and struck out 116.
Frank Herrmann (2.92 ERA) worked one perfect inning and Juan Salas gave up one hit, one walk and struck out one in the ninth to complete the win.
Outfielder Donnie Webb, promoted from Class A Lake County earlier in the day, went 3-for-4 with a walk, run, stolen base and three RBI in his Triple-A debut. He started in center field in place of Michael Brantley, who was promoted to Cleveland and made his major-league debut Tuesday.
Third baseman Wes Hodges (.271) and left fielder Jordan Brown (.333) both went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
