SP T.J. House: Bounces back by Chuck Murr of IndiansInk.net, September 7, 2009 at 10:13am ET
T.J. House Profile
T.J. House pitched six shutout innings to help Lake County to a 2-1 win at Hagerstown.
House (6-11, 3.12 ERA) had been hit hard in losing each of his three previous starts -- allowing 11 runs in 15 innings for a 6.60 ERA.
Against the Suns, the 19-year-old left-hander gave up five hits and three walks, striking out four.
Early in the season, House was among the best pitchers in the South Atlantic League, even though his record didn't show it. Before the all-star break, he compiled a 2.74 ERA in 13 starts, but had only a 2-7 record. In 13 starts in the second half, he has gone 4-4 with a 3.58 ERA.
A 16th-round pick out of high school in 2008, House is among the more promising prospects in Cleveland's farm system. Look for him to move up a level next season and don't be surprised if he has better success with increased run support.
