Jeremy Johnson Profile

Jeremy Johnson threw two perfect innings for Cleveland in a 3-2 loss to a team of Cincinnati Reds prospects in an Arizona Instructional League game.

Johnson, a 13th-round draft pick in June, threw first-pitch strikes to all seven batters he faced, striking out one. One man reached on an error. The right-hander topped out at 92 mph and made 30 pitches overall.

Johnson had a nice season in relief at short-season Mahoning Valley, going 2-2 with a 1.95 ERA in 19 outings. In 37 innings for the Scrappers, he walked only eight and struck out 29, allowing 37 hits.

Also in the game against the Reds, Indians first-round pick Alex White gave up two unearned runs and five hits over five innings -- his longest outing of the fall. The right-hander struck out three without a walk, threw 60 pitches, and averaged 92 mph with a top speed of 94. He made first-pitch strikes to 13 of the 21 men he faced.

Cleveland made four errors -- one apiece by shortstop Jorge Martinez, third baseman Giovanny Urshela, catcher Rolando Petit and right-fielder Diori Robles.

Jason Kipnis, drafted in the second round as an outfielder, played second base for the first five innings and went 2-for-2 with a run.
