Matt McBride had two more hits for the Peoria Saguaros in a 6-4 loss to Mesa in the Arizona Fall League.

McBride started in left field and went 2-for-5 with a run, RBI, stolen base and strikeout. In three games, he is hitting .417 (5-for-12) with four RBI.

McBride hit .287 with 18 homers and 99 RBI in 129 games this summer between Class A Kinston and Double-A Akron. Drafted as a catcher with the 75th overall pick by Cleveland in 2006, he is putting his game back together after having shoulder surgery following the 2007 season.

McBride no longer catches on a regular basis, but has learned to play first base and left field. This enhances his value, though he is considered an offensive player. He'll turn 25 in May and needs to have a productive year in 2010 to truly be considered a major-league prospect.

Three of McBride's teammates from Akron also played in the Saguaros' loss. Carlos Rivero played third base and went 1-for-4 with a strikeout; Nick Weglarz was the DH and was 0-for-2 with two walks and two strikeouts; and Josh Rodriguez was 0-for-3 with a walk and three strikeouts as the second baseman.
