Chalk Up Chulk As Another Signing
He was drafted by Toronto in the 12th round in 2000 out of St. Thomas University in Florida, where earned the Best Pitcher Award in the Sun Conference for three consecutive seasons (1998-2000).
He made his big-league debut with the Blue Jays in 2003 and was dealt with infielder Shea Hillenbrand to San Francisco for reliever Jeremy Accardo near the trading deadline in July 2006.
He spent the entire 2007 season with the Giants, going 5-4 with a 3.57 ERA in 57 appearances. He split the 2008 season between San Francisco (0-3, 4.83 ERA) and Triple-A Fresno (0-1, 3.65 ERA, two saves).
Chulk opened the 2008 season on the 15-day disabled list with a sore right shoulder and was activated on April 16. He pitched in 27 games before being was designated for assignment on June 24 and later outrighted to Fresno.
